How are P50 Extinguishers Sold, Installed and Commissioned?

The UK's main distributor of P50 service-free fire extinguishers is Safelincs which offers nationwide customer care and install. Any business or organisation requiring P50s is offered a free site survey to determine which P50 extinguishers are required, where are they required and in what quantity. The number of extinguishers per site will most likely reduce dramatically as, in most cases, a single 6ltr P50 Water Mist will be able to replace traditional fire points combining a CO2 extinguisher with either a water or foam unit, though where particularly high ratings are required P50 A-Foam and P50 B-Foam models are also available. P50 foams are safe on live electrical equipment up to 1,000 Volt, so the customer will not require CO2 extinguishers to deal with electrical risks. Having only one type of extinguisher on fire points also helps to avoid confusion and the dangerous decision-paralysis of users.

Once the customer has received their quote and has decided to go ahead, Safelincs engineers will install and commission the extinguishers. Importantly, they will also train the customer's staff in the easy annual visual inspection required. This training is certified for the customer's records.
