Maintaining fire doors in good working order is a legal requirement and fire doors should be inspected at least once every 6 months by the Responsible Person for the building. According to the Fire Safety Act 2021, in residential buildings over 11m, fire doors should be inspected quarterly in common areas and annually on flat entrance doors.
