Q. Is the Exitguard door alarm a continuous alarm until the door closes or is there a time limit for the alarm?
A. The alarm will sound until it is deactivated using either the key or keypad (depending on which version you have).
Q. How long do the batteries last on the Exitguard?
A. Depending on usage, the battery life of the EX104 battery operated Exitguard can be up to 5 years. When the battery needs replacing the unit will start to emit warning bleeps. The batteries should be replaced immediately when this happens but the unit will continue to function for around 2 weeks after the first battery fault bleeps.
Q. Is this unit supplied with a set of magnetic door contacts? If so is it possible to exchange the contacts for a set of roller shutter contacts?
A. Yes, the fire exit alarm is supplied with magnetic contact. And a seperate magnetic contact for shutter rollers can be purchased from us HODCS-RS
Q. We purchased an Exitguard mains powered alarm with keyswitch. Unfortunately during the works our Customer has lost the key. Is it possible to purchase a replacement key?
A. Replacement keys can be purchased. Do you have the key number recorded? If so, all we need is the proof of original purchase and payment for the replacement key.
If you are unable to find the key number we can get a set of keys for you to try and then when you find which one works you can return the ones that are not suitable.
There will be an oncost for the handling and a deposit might be required. Again we would require proof of original purchase.
Q. Which Exit Guard product would be suitable to fit to a fire exit door that gives a remote audible/visual signal in a control room?
A. The Exitguard mains powered units would be suitable for this application. These unit allows 12V sounders and beacons to be installed alongside the unit in the control room. These would require connecting with standard 8 core intruder cable.
