Q. How thick are the doors?

Q. How much can be removed from each edge of the door?

A. You can remove 4mm from each side of the door and 9mm from bottom, you are unable to remove any from the top of the door.

Q. Do the doors satisfy disability rights?

A. All the doors satisfy the DDA regulations.

Q. Do FD30 fire doors have to made with softwood or hardwood frames?

A. FD30 are made of softwood. FD60 fire doors are made of hardwood

Q. How do you calculate the weight of a door ?

A. In order to calculate the weight of a fire door you will need to know the square m2 weight of the doors core. This is determined using the thickness of the door as follows:

  • 44mm = 55kg
  • 54mm = 75kg

The calculation below can be used to determine the approximate weight of the fire door. Please note that the calculation does not take glass weight into account.

Width  X  height  X  thickness  X  square m2 weight of the door core  =  Weight of fire door.

For example for a door that was 926x2040mm with a thickness of 44mm the following calculation would give an approximate weight:

0.926  X  2.040  X  0.44  X  55  =  45 KG

Q. Do you also supply and fit ironmongery on the doors you supply?

A. Although we can supply door hinges, door closers and door holders and some other fire rated door accessories we do not have the facility to fit these..
