Do batteries in radio-interlinked alarms expire quicker than those in normal alarms?
Batteries in
radio-interlinked alarms do expire quicker than in other types of smoke alarms. This is due to the frequent radio interaction of the alarms to ensure that when one smoke alarm is activated, they all go off.
RF smoke alarms are, however, also available with a
10-year sealed long-life lithium battery. This battery will last for the 10-year life of the smoke alarm.
