Ironmongery Protection for Fire Door Locks, Hinges and Door Closers

These strips of graphite based intumescent material can be cut to the exact size required and installed under door locks, striker plates, hinges and door closers. When subjected to the high temperatures that occur during a fire, the material expands to prevent the spread of fire through screw holes and hinges etc. When used in conjunction with intumescent fire door seals, these strips can help to seal the fire doors in an emergency and give the occupants of the building more time to safely escape.

• Available in 2 sizes:
  • Size One (36x300x2mm) – fire door hinges (replaced with this new range)
  • Size Two (500x500x0.8mm) – locks / door closers
• Can be trimmed easily with standard household scissors
• Compresses upon application without reducing the protective properties
• Unaffected by moisture
• Maintenance free
• Tested to BS476
