For high-risk, low-traffic areas of a building, such as stairwells where there is also a lift, there is likely a need for normal lighting fixtures as well as emergency lighting. However, relying on wall switches will undoubtedly result in the lights being left on and wasting power, increasing electricity costs. Adding a PIR motion sensor to maintained emergency lighting allows the lights to provide automatic illumination in place of traditional lights, while saving on energy consumption and costs as the lights are only lit when needed. As they are emergency lights, they will still operate from their built-in battery pack during a power cut.
Ideal for dimly lit areas, the 50W floodlight is fitted with a separate PIR sensor and will activate upon detecting movement. In the event of a power cut the unit will continue to function for 3 hours.
