Fire Alarm Engineer

Overview

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to develop their career by joining Safelincs, a highly respected fire safety business with a nationwide customer base.

We are recruiting for a lead fire alarm engineer who will be responsible for building up a team of fire alarm engineers. The candidate has to be able to design, install and maintain fire alarm systems and to work with sub-contractors and other Safelincs engineers to achieve the required outcome. This is a hands-on role that requires traveling nationwide where required.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for training new fire alarm engineers to build a multi-skilled team. This role also requires training other staff in fire alarm related knowledge. A strong interest in industry standards and manufacturers’ product developments is absolutely essential.

You will represent Safelincs at industry events and on relevant trade bodies linked to fire alarm maintenance and will take part at trade shows and CPD events offered by Safelincs.

Fire Alarm Installations/Maintenance

  • To carry out site surveys, system design, installations and maintenance in line with British Standards, manufacturers’ guidelines and industry procedures
  • To project co-ordinate your work with electricians and other service providers
  • Oversee the training and development of fellow team members through internal training and shadowing
  • Work within the BAFE framework and all other relevant industry frameworks at all times
  • To continually train to ensure your industry and product knowledge is up to date and to train other staff members in fire alarm related knowledge
  • To travel as necessary to site locations for servicing or maintenance, including overnight stays

Health & Safety

  • Carry out vehicle checks as set out in the specific procedure
  • Adhere to road safety law and legislation at all times when driving on behalf of the company
  • Adhere to all H&S practices when using equipment and maintain a safe working environment
  • Carry out risk assessments as required

This role will require good English and Maths skills and the successful candidate will need a clean DBS check.

Details

Job type: Full time with occasional overnight stays

Wage: Up to £35,000 per year, with enhancement of overnight stay supplement

Company vehicle: You will have the use of a company vehicle whilst travelling for work

Location: Alford, Lincolnshire
