Internal Fire Alarm Engineer Consultant

Overview

An excellent part-time opportunity for an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to develop their career by joining Safelincs, a highly respected fire safety business with a nationwide customer base.

We are recruiting for a lead fire alarm engineer who will be responsible for building up a team of Safelincs fire alarm engineers. You will be required to work 2-3 days per week based in Alford, Lincolnshire with occasional travel only.

The successful candidate has to be able to install and maintain fire alarm systems and to work with sub-contractors and other Safelincs engineers to achieve our required outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsible for training new fire alarm engineers to build a multi-skilled team as well as training our sales team. A strong interest in industry standards and manufacturers’ product developments is absolutely essential.

You will represent Safelincs at industry events and on relevant trade bodies linked to fire alarm maintenance and will take part at trade shows and CPD events offered by Safelincs.

Fire Alarm Installations/Maintenance

You will be required to advise on training requirements and to underpin the training of new fire alarm engineers to enable them to:

  • To carry out installations and maintenance in line with British Standards, manufacturers’ guidelines and industry procedures
  • To project co-ordinate your work with electricians and other service providers
  • Oversee the training and development of fellow team members through internal training and shadowing
  • Work within the BAFE framework and all other relevant industry frameworks at all times

You will be required to:

  • To continually train to ensure your industry and product knowledge is up to date and to train other staff members in fire alarm related knowledge
  • Occasionally travel as necessary to site locations
  • Attend trade shows and industry events
  • Create and review content for our fire alarm listings on our website
  • Assist our teams to create helpful customer guides

This role will require good English and Maths skills and the successful candidate will need a clean DBS check.
