The Ei151 is a mains powered smoke alarm with a lithium back-up battery. As the Ei151 is now discontinued, Ei Electronics (also known as Aico) have developed the Ei3016 optical smoke alarm as the most suitable replacement because it can interlink with any Ei150 series alarms remaining in your system. The Ei3016 features new optical sensor technology that is less prone to false alarms than the ionisation technology of the Ei151, making it suitable for use in a wider range of locations.

Please note: Due to the manufacturer changing the design of their baseplates, you will require an electrician to install these alarms in place of your old Ei151 alarms. However, the same power and interlink wiring can be used for the new base.

As stated different fitting on replacement but easy change
Stating it included the small fitting to cover ceiling footprint of original rectangle model it replaced was the selling point for me and covered the area perfectly.

Perfect smoke alarm & kit to easily replace outdated unit
Everything contained in the kit to enable easy removal of the old outdated unit, masking the old mounting arrangements and simple mounting and connection of the new unit.
The new unit connected with the other alarms instantly power was restored and functioned perfectly and correctly when tested as per the instructions.
Help and advice from Safelincs prior to purchase was excellent in determining course of action and replacement unit required to resolve the fault we had.
