The Ei146e mains powered optical smoke alarm from EI Electronics is the upgrade to the Ei146RC detector. The new model features a sleek new design, sealed insect mesh, and automatic dust compensation for improved resistance to false alarms. Full backward compatibility with all devices used with the previous versions, including the Ei1529RC remote control switch and Ei168RC wireless base, means adding it to an existing Ei140/160/3000 system or replacing an old alarm is quick, easy, and reliable.

This is an updated version of the original smoke alarm. So easy to replace as it uses original base that the previous alarm was supplied with. So no electrician required to fit the new version, it just clips back in place.
