Evacuation Sledges

Evacuation sledges are specialised equipment to transport injured or immobile patients during emergencies such as a fire. The sledge is placed next to the patient and the patient is then transferred onto the sledge, fastened safely before the evacuation sledge is lifted off the bed. The sledge can be moved safely down any stairs without risk to care staff / nurses or the patient. The evacuation sledge is designed to be lightweight and durable therefore they are convenient to use in an emergency situation and provide comfort for the patient. Evacuation sledges are ideal for wheelchair users as they offer greater comfort with additional straps and padding, whereas an evacuation chair typically only provides a lap strap for securing the individual.

Evacuation Sheets

An evacuation sheet is a device designed to assist in the safe and efficient evacuation of immobile or bedridden individuals during fires and other emergencies. They are commonly used in hospitals, nursing homes, or other facilities where patients may have limited mobility and cannot easily evacuate on their own. Evacuation Sheets are ideal for buildings with narrow staircases and limited space as they take up less space and evacuation sledges have less give. Evacuation sheets are more compact and provide greater flexibility than evacuation sledges.
