How Does an Evac+Chair Work?

Most models use friction belts to control the speed of descent, accounting for the combined weight of the chair and passenger. A sling-style seat, forehead restraint and safety buckles keep the passenger secure on the stairs. Once you reach level ground, you deploy the back wheels and push the chair to the assembly point.

Which Evac+Chair Model Do You Need?

We stock the full range to suit different buildings and users:

300H MK5: the classic single-operator chair for standard staircases
500: supports passengers up to 227kg and handles steep 45° stairs
600H: adds two extra handles for up to four operators, useful where obstructions or basement exits are involved
Power 1000H: motor-assisted, so the operator doesn't need to exert any physical effort
110 Narrow Aisle: built for older buildings with restricted stairways
200H CarryLite: designed for single-level horizontal evacuation where there are no stairs

Evac+Chairs are Class I Medical Devices, so annual servicing and staff training are legal requirements. We offer both.
