Aico / Ei Electronics

Aico is the UK subsidiary of Ei Electronics, an Irish manufacturer of domestic fire and carbon monoxide alarms. It's a well-established brand used widely in homes, HMOs and new-build properties across the UK, with all products manufactured by Ei Electronics in Shannon, Ireland.

An Aico smoke alarm is a certified optical or multi-sensor detector designed to alert occupants to smoke as early as possible. Aico smoke alarms are available as battery-powered or mains-powered units, with or without wireless interlinking.

Many Aico alarms are interlinked, either by hardwire or wirelessly using RadioLINK+ technology. When one alarm triggers, all linked alarms sound at the same time, giving everyone in the property the earliest possible warning.

Aico alarms are certified to the relevant British Standards, including BS EN 14604 for smoke alarms and BS 5446-2 for heat alarms. Many models in the Ei600 and Ei3000 series are also suitable for the updated Scottish fire alarm legislation introduced in 2022.

Most Aico smoke alarms are designed to last 10 years. Models in the Ei600 and Ei3000 series have sealed lithium batteries built to last the full lifetime of the alarm, so there's no need to replace the battery during that period.
