Made from high performance graphite, Astroflame intumescent hinge pads will swell and expand when exposed to high temperatures during a fire, sealing even the smallest of gaps around fire rated hinges to prevent the spread of fire and smoke. All ironmongery fitted to a fire door must be installed without compromising the integrity of the complete assembly, and this is especially important around hinges which interrupt the rebated or surface-mounted perimeter seals on the door leaf or frame.
