The Ei141 is a mains‑powered ionisation smoke alarm with an alkaline back‑up battery. Because all Ei141 units rely on older ionisation technology, the range is now being phased out. If you need to replace an Ei141, the Ei146e optical smoke alarm is a direct, 100% compatible upgrade that fits your existing base plate and connects seamlessly to your current system. There’s no need to pay for an electrician or deal with any rewiring.

The Ei146e can interlink with any remaining Ei140/140RC series alarms, as well as a wide selection of other Ei Electronics / Aico models. Its modern optical sensor is far less prone to nuisance alarms, making it suitable for a wider variety of locations including rooms adjacent to kitchens, hallways, landings, bedrooms, and general living areas.
