The MultiMax L-Ion range is the next generation of fire extinguishers designed to provide comprehensive protection against a wide range of fire hazards, including Class A, B, C*, F, Electrical, and Lithium-Ion Battery fires. Using an advanced PFAS-free, fluorine-free synthetic foam agent, the MultiMax range offers an environmentally conscious solution while delivering exceptional performance across domestic, commercial, and industrial environments.

Unlike traditional extinguishers that are limited to specific fire classes, MultiMax L-Ion extinguishers help simplify fire safety by offering all-in-one protection, including coverage for fires involving lithium-ion batteries commonly found in mobile phones, laptops, power tools, e-bikes and other modern devices. The 6ltr and 9ltr models have been tested up to 600Wh for lithium-ion battery protection in accordance with the NTA 8133 Standard, and the full range is CE Marked, and UKCA Marked for peace of mind.

What is a MultiMax L-ion Fire Extinguisher?

The MultiMax L-ion is a next-generation, fluorine-free synthetic foam fire extinguisher designed to provide protection against multiple fire classes, including lithium-ion battery fires. It is certified to relevant standards including NTA 8133, BSI Kitemark, and CE Mark, making it suitable for industrial, commercial, and residential applications.

What fire types does the MultiMax L-ion cover?

The MultiMax L-ion is designed for:

  • Class A – Solid combustibles (wood, paper, textiles, furniture)
  • Class B – Flammable liquids (petrol, diesel, paints, solvents)
  • Class C – *Combustible gases (LPG, propane, methane)
  • Class F – Cooking oils and fats
  • Electrically Started Fires (ESF)
  • Lithium-Ion Battery Fires – Phones, laptops, power tools, e-bikes / e-scooters

*Class C testing is covered under Australian Standard AS/NZS 1850:2009.

Can the MultiMax L-ion be used on lithium-ion battery fires?

Yes. The MultiMax L-ion extinguisher is specifically marketed and certified for lithium-ion battery fire risks. The 6ltr and 9ltr models have been tested to NTA 8133, a recognised standard for lithium-ion battery fire extinguishers, and are rated for use on lithium-ion battery fires up to 600 Wh.

Is the MultiMax L-ion PFAS-free?

Yes. The extinguishing agent used in all MultiMax L-ion extinguishers is a CF Green 100% Fluorine Free Synthetic Foam. This agent is 100% bio-degradable, contains no PFAS / PFOA and does not contain any intentionally added fluorinated surfactants associated with PFAS-based firefighting foams. It has also been independently verified by a global testing partner.

Is the MultiMax L-ion safe to use on electrical equipment?

Yes. The MultiMax L-ion extinguisher is approved for Electrically Started Fires (ESF) and is suitable for use on live electrical equipment up to 1000V.

Can the MultiMax L-ion replace multiple fire extinguishers?

In many applications, yes. Because it covers Class A, B, C, F, ESF, and lithium-ion battery risks, a single MultiMax L-ion extinguisher can potentially replace the need for several specialist extinguishers in the same area, simplifying fire protection arrangements.
