Product Overview

The DETA 1151 is a mains powered smoke alarms with alkaline back-up batteries and has now been discontinued by the manufacturer. To ensure that owners of existing DETA 1150 systems can continue to use their current wiring, BRK developed their 670MBX alarm to be fully compatible with your outgoing and remaining DETA alarms and bases. They are guaranteed to fit directly onto your existing bases so an electrician is not required.

The supplied BRK 670MBX is an ionisation smoke alarm ideal for landings areas and detects fast flaming fires quickly. This alarm features a central test and hush button making maintenance very easy while a replaceable 9V alkaline backup battery ensures that it continues to operate even during a power failure, so you are never without protection.

  • Power: 230V mains powered with back-up battery
  • Back-up Battery: 9V alkaline back-up battery (included)
  • Warranty: 5 year manufacturer's warranty
  • Fits onto your existing DETA alarm push-fit base
    • BRK push-fit base also included to keep as a spare
  • Ionisation sensor provides quick detection of fast flaming fires
  • CE and Kitemarked to BS EN 14604: 2005
  • Performs its own self-checks every 48 seconds to ensure the alarm is functioning correctly
  • Test and silence button feature
  • Product warranty and life commences from date of purchase

The simple installation process of the 670MBX replacement alarm removes the need for an electrician, though you must ensure that mains power to all interlinked alarms is cut before beginning work. The interlink wire can carry a live electric current between alarms if they are powered from different circuits.

Compatible Alarms

Below is a table of all alarms which can be interchanged using the same base plate and interlink system. Care should be taken to ensure the correct model is purchased to replace existing alarms. Optical smoke alarms can be used in place of ionisation smoke alarms, but heat alarms and smoke alarms serve different purposes and cannot be swapped.

Does the job, without the need to replace the base plate from the previous model. Opening up the main section to remove when fully fitted is a little difficult. Knowing how much pressure to exert with a screwdriver only comes with the experience of changing batteries or removing the older version at 02:00 am when the alarms were going off for no reason at all. A simpler clip or key would be a better design idea.
