The tool will offer tips and advice on the steps you can take to reduce fire risks and at the end, you will receive a personalised fire safety action plan to help keep you and your household safe from fire.
We have worked closely with the NFCC and all Fire & Rescue services to make sure this simple check covers all of the most common fire safety issues in UK homes.
The tool is also used by the UK fire services to identify and support homes at risk of fire.
Throughout the home fire safety check, you will receive simple top tips on how to improve safety in your home including fitting a smoke alarm on every floor.
The tool is free and accessible to everyone, with the option to translate into any language.
It takes around 15 minutes to complete the home fire safety check questions. The check can be completed for your home or on behalf of someone else.
Always make sure you answer the questions as honestly as possible to make sure the advice is relevant to you.
