The tough slippery Vinyl coated material base of the Ski Pad enables patients to be moved easily over virtually any surface - indoors or outdoors. Unlike other evacuation sledges, the Hospital Aids Ski Pad is fitted with an IMMI buckle that makes the sheet the only product on the market to be NHS approved. When a patient needs to be evacuated from a building (particularly those with narrow corridors, stairwells, single doors, congested wards and escape routes) it is imperative to not only get the patient to safety quickly but also protect the user. The easy-to-maneuver Ski Pad is designed to be operated by two persons, distributing the weight and strain. The handle design on the Ski Pad makes moving patients down corridors and stairways simple and safe for both the patient and the operatives.
Please note: Due to the lifesaving nature of these devices, it is recommended that a separate evacuation sledge is used for drills and training purposes. This will ensure that the sledge used in an emergency has been exposed to minimal wear and tear. In an emergency the folded sledge is taken off the wall mount and the patient is transferred from the bed to Ski Pad.
