This alarm has a guaranteed lifespan of 10 years without ever needing to change the battery. This optical alarm is designed for use in homes with gas cooking appliances and heating systems where normal fumes might falsely trigger traditional alarms, and the in-built carbon monoxide detector will warn you against the presence of the deadly gas. Two distinct alarm sounds alert you depending on which hazard has been detected. Near the end of its 10 year life the alarm emits an audible warning as well as flashing its LED.
