Over the last 20 years, Safelincs has worked with a number of partners to introduce new and innovative products to our customers.
The Britannia P50 is certainly a standout product and was developed to reduce the need for yearly extinguisher servicing. All extinguishers in this range are designed to last for 10 years with just a simple visual inspection by any person within your company so there is no need for an annual service by a fire safety engineer.
Other products included the Saffold Fire Escape Ladder which can be permanently fixed to the outside of a building (whilst remaining unobtrusive) to provide a safe escape for occupants in an emergency. In addition to this, the particularly popular UltraFire Water Mist fire extinguisher range was developed as an alternative to the more traditional water/foam and CO2 combination. The Water Mist extinguishers are designed to combat class A, B, C, and F fires as well as fires involving live electrical equipment. Because these extinguishers use de-ionised water, coupled with a specialist nozzle, they create a mist curtain to suffocate the fire and have been proven to be completely safe if used on live electrical equipment.
Our team recognise the importance of protecting the environment and are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact. We have a number of ongoing projects that are helping work towards our end goal of carbon neutrality.
We use 100% renewable electricity to run our business and have invested heavily in our 1000sqm Solar PV installation. This installation produces around 60% of our energy. To complement this, we replaced many of our company vehicles with electric models.
From a dispatch and packaging perspective, we try to limit the percentage of plastic packaging as we understand how harmful this can be for the environment. We instead choose to use cardboard for our shipping and create new padding materials by shredding the cardboard we receive into the company.

Safelincs is committed to supporting those in need through various activities and events. We host or contribute to charitable events such as for LIVES – Lincolnshire's volunteer emergency response charity – as well as participating in national schemes including a fund raising campaign to support Alzheimer’s Research UK where Safelincs donated for every item purchased from a range of products designed to support independent living for those with dementia or may otherwise be at increased risk when at home by themselves. Safelincs also donated a state of the art wireless fire alarm system to Buses 4 Homeless after Dan Atkins, who started the social enterprise with a mission to provide 14,600 nights of sleep a year for the homeless, contacted Safelincs for fire safety advice.
We try to contribute to our local community as much as possible, such as raising money for the Alford library and involving local businesses and artists in the development of promotional materials, including a tradition of commissioning hand-made branded mugs from Alford Pottery. Safelincs also participates in local job fairs and work placements to promote local employment opportunities and help spread fire safety awareness into schools. We are proud to have supported Evie Toombes, para show jumper from Skegness and an Ambassador for Hidden Disabilities, with her quest to fund a medical horse box as well as donating a potentially life-saving Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to Alford Football Club.
