Completion of ‘Warm Zone’ Project

A very successful project is slowly coming to an end. In 2008 Kirklees Council decided to offer its residents free CO alarms through their WarmZone project. Safelincs was chosen as supplier of Kidde carbon monoxide detectors and has by now supplied over 120,000 CO detectors for this project.  To celebrate the completion of this  program, a photo shoot was arranged for all key partners that participated in the project. Keeley Broddle, from Safelincs Customer Care Team, can be seen on the left in the second row. Safelincs is extremely proud of its contribution to this achievement and to have been a part of this project.

National GO Awards 2009 – Finalists Announced

Safelincs, the UK’s leading online fire safety provider, are celebrating after being shortlisted for the final of the ‘Best Small Business or Third Sector Service Provider’ at the GO Awards.

The competition has never been so healthy and 2009 saw a record number of submissions entered into the GO awards. This makes the achievement of a finalist place even more significant.

The National Government Opportunities (GO) Awards recognise excellence within the public procurement sector. Safelincs were nominated after they won a major council tender in Jan 2008 and provided an excellent service to Kirklees’ council residents. This was part of the ‘Warm Zone Project’ in which Safelincs provided Carbon Monoxide detectors to these residents.

Safelincs, wholeheartedly supported the ‘Warm Zone Project’, which was set up to cut carbon dioxide emissions by promoting the sustainable and efficient use of energy.

Kirklees council’s head of environmental unit, Phillip Webber said: “Throughout the scheme Safelincs has demonstrated excellent service delivery and have always shown enthusiasm and commitment in making sure that the monitors arrive safely and quickly to each customer.”

The finals will be held on 4 June 2009.

Safelincs CO Detector saves family!

A CO detector supplied by Safelincs as part of the Kirklees Warmzone project last week detected CO gas the day after it was installed. The CO leak came from a faulty flue and could potentially have been fatal for the family. A reminder of how important it is to have a good CO alarm installed in every house!

Major Council Contract for Safelincs Ltd

Safelincs Ltd has won a major contract with Kirklees Council to supply up to 100,000 carbon monoxide alarms over the next three years as part of the Kirklees Warm Zone programme.

The Warm Zone home energy efficiency scheme is offering free cavity wall and loft installation to every resident, regardless of their age or income. The importance of carbon monoxide awareness and safety was recognised by Kirklees Council, so all Warm Zone assessed households can request a free carbon monoxide alarm.

“We are very pleased to be associated with this innovative scheme,” said Harry Dewick-Eisele, managing director, Safelincs Ltd. “We were able to show that, as well as meeting or exceeding the required product specifications, we are able to handle the council’s flexible supply requirements. Kirklees Council requires not only large bulk shipments to programme partners, but also thousands of individual shipment to many Kirklees residents. Safelincs also offers customer support which makes it important that each of our telephone operatives can demonstrate full product knowledge and the ability to deal effectively with any queries that may arise.”

All alarms supplied by Safelincs display the Kirklees Council logo and each unit carries a unique seven year guarantee.
