9kg dry powder fire extinguishers are ideal for use in caravans and small workshops. With a Class A (solid materials) and Class B (paints, solutions and flammable liquids and gases) rating and a stainless steel body, these dry powder extinguishers are not only multi-functional and durable but also stylish.
Our stainless steel fire extinguishers are manufactured using exactly the same standards and processes as our Kitemarked units. They are tested and registered with LPCB but, as with any non-red unit, they cannot meet British Standards which stipulates the colour of the cylinder.
Please note: The use of powder fire extinguishers indoors is not recommended by BS 5306-8:2012 due to the mess powder creates and the potential impairment of vision and respiration it can cause.

The following technical data sheets are available for this product:
The following COSHH regulations apply to this product:
Q. Should a powder extinguisher be inverted regularly to avoid the powder sticking in the bottom?
A. Inverting the cylinder of a powder extinguisher is part of the service procedure for cartridge operated powder extinguishers and isn’t required for stored pressure powder extinguishers by the British Standard BS 5306-3:2009. However it is good practice to perform this action during a basic service on stored pressure extinguishers as it only takes a moment and ensures that the contents are not compacted.
Q. In a new building can I choose which extinguisher I want to install, either chrome or red extinguishers? Chrome extinguishers do not conform to BS EN3 as they are CE marked but not Kitemarked.
A. The red fire extinguishers are manufactured and kitemarked to BS EN3. The chrome units are not manufactured to the British standard but are still CE marked. There is no requirement for new buildings to only install the red extinguishers. You may have a clause in your insurance policy saying that you need extinguishers manufactured to BS EN 3 and installed according to BS5306, in which case you would be required to install the red units. But all extinguishers, red or chrome, can be installed and maintained to the British Standard so if that is the only stipulation then you can install chrome.
