Installing a smoke alarm is a vital first step to protecting you and your family from fire, but without regular checks you’re still putting yourself in danger. This reminder service has been designed to provide you with a free way of making sure you never forget to test your alarms, change the batteries or replace the unit altogether.

Testing your alarm regularly is the first line of defence against a defective unit. This is one of the tests we offer as part of the system. Batteries should be replaced before the low battery warning starts to alert you, so we also offer a replacement reminder, suggesting you replace your batteries every 5 years. Finally, after 10 years your smoke alarm unit should be replaced altogether. We offer this reminder too, making sure you never have an out of date alarm on your ceiling.

We offer these reminders completely free, through SMS alerts, twitter direct messages and emails. We don’t charge you for the messages we send via SMS, and we will never share your number, email or twitter username with any third party. We hate spam too – we will only ever use your details to contact you regarding the reminder service.

Smoke Alarms Testing Reminders

Smoke alarms require routine testing to ensure that they function correctly when they are really needed. However, we tend to forget to carry out this test. This reminder service will remind you when your alarms need testing next time.
