Kidde Firex KF2 and KF2R's are mains powered, interlinking optical smoke alarms. The KF2 has an alkaline battery back-up and the KF2R, a rechargeable lithium battery back-up. The units are hard wired and can be interlinked with other units from the series to create all round fire protection within the home.
Please Note: The Kidde Firex KF2 (previously Kidde 4973) and KF2R (previously Kidde 4985) are replacements for the Kidde 2239HI and 2239HILLs and can still be interlinked, however the new models cannot be used on the same base plates and use different connector blocks.
