The FireAngel W2-SVP-630 is a combined strobe and vibrating pad, designed to provide alternative warning methods for the deaf and hard of hearing. When a connected Wi-Safe 2 smoke and heat alarm system has been activated, the strobe automatically illuminates for visual indication, and the vibrating pad wakes the individual when positioned under their pillow. The strobe and vibrating pad can be wirelessly interlinked with up to 50 other devices within the FireAngel Wi-Safe 2 range.

as it says on the box.... would your loved one really wake from just a regular smoke alarm?? or are they hard of hearing, do they take out hearing aide at night?, REALLY WORTH THE EXTRA for piece of mind. Does need a linked smoke alarm.
