What is a Release Station?

The Modum Ladder has points at which the ladder can be released and opened from. These are called release stations.

A standard ladder will come with one release station at the top of the ladder. If an exit is also required at a lower floor level, an additional release station will need to be installed.

For example: If a fire breaks out in a 3 storey building (ground, first and second floor), having two release stations will allow the inhabitants on both the 1st and 2nd floor to release the ladder to escape. The person at the top floor can release the entire ladder while the person on the first floor can release just the bottom section. The sections can be opened in any sequence.
