Battery Operated Smoke Alarms

The battery units comply to Grade F, whilst the mains units comply to D, E and F of BS 5839-6:2004.
Living rooms, lounges and bedrooms usually contain large amounts of soft furnishings. Soft furnishings such as sofas, mattresses, cushions, throws, pillows etc. usually produce slow-burning, smouldering fires, producing large amounts of smoke but little or no open flames. Optical smoke alarms detect smoke particles in the air and so are perfect for installation in locations with furniture.
In comparison to ionisaton smoke alarm sensors, optical alarms are less prone to false alarms and so are better suited to rooms with open fire places and candles. With a variety of battery or mains powered alarms and the option of stand-alone or interconnected functionality there is a suitable optical smoke alarm for every application.
