Optical Smoke Alarms

Optical smoke alarms are sometimes called photo-electric smoke alarms. They are more recent than the ionisation smoke alarms and do not contain any radio-activity (in contrast to the ionisation smoke alarms).They are less prone to false alarms from burned toasts and can therefore be installed near kitchens (not in the kitchen). They are alos very good at detecting smouldering fires. We recommend them for bedrooms, lounges and the hallway.
