Optical Smoke Alarms
Optical smoke alarms, also called photoelectric smoke alarms, sense smoke using the light scatter principle. They have a quick response to visibly smoldering smoke (e.g. from foam filled furniture & overheated PVC wiring). They are also good in areas where you can otherwise expect false alarms (eg near kitchens). We recommend the use of optical alarms in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways.
