Noby 220 Residential Fire Control Panel

Noby has unveiled a new concept in fire control panel design, the Noby-220, which offers all the benefits of a full-featured professional fire control panel. Key to the design is its small size and modern designer looks. Although aimed at the residential market, the panel is equally suitable for shops, offices, bed-sits, student accommodation and guest houses.

The Noby-220 addresses growing concerns over the vulnerability of low-cost battery operated smoke alarms. This has been the subject of recent government fire safety campaigns, highlighting situations where batteries have become exhausted, or are ‘temporarily’ removed to silence false alarms. A professionally installed Noby-220 system addresses these shortcomings, and opens the door to fitting a wide range of detector types to cover those awkward locations such as workshops, kitchens and smoking rooms.

The Noby-220 is a compact two zone conventional fire control panel capable of supporting up to 20 detectors, and provides a viable mains powered alternative for fire detection in the home or small business. Finished in a modern and attractive stainless steel facia and measuring just six inches square, the Noby-220 will sit comfortably in any public space. Push-button operation is both intuitive and user friendly. End-user functions such as one-touch muting and self-timed zone disablement make the Noby-220 an easy fire panel to live with, whilst a simple code sequence gives access to the more safety critical functions. In the event of mains power failure the battery will maintain the system for up to 120 hours.

Despite its small size, the Noby-220 incorporates all the salient features normally attributed to its larger EN54 approved ‘big-box’ counterparts, and provides fault monitoring of all safety critical circuits. The panel comes with a built-in 85dB sounder, with provision to add up to 10 external sounders. An integral hi-intensity LED alarm strobe also serves as a courtesy light or night light.

For ease of installation the Noby-220 has three 20mm and two smaller cord-grip knock-outs plus cable access via the back of the box. A handful of programmable options and a one-man walk test facility combine to make the Noby-220 the panel of choice for smaller installations.
