Changes in Direction / Corridor Junctions
In a building it is important to have emergency lighting that clearly illuminates
corridors and where there are changes in direction. This allows users to clearly
identify their means of escape and should highlight the escape route signs. According
to BS 5266-7:1999 (EN 1838) along the centre of any escape route there must be
a minimum of 1 lux lighting provided in the event of power failure to provide
adequate vision to enable evacuation.
