Q.I am hoping these might solve the problem of being required to fit fire door closers to old Victorian bedroom doors that are too thin for the concealed tube-type chain closers and where the position of the door makes the operation of overhead closers problematic. Working under 2006 building regs. So not required to replace current doors with fire doors.
Can you tell me the dimensions of the hinge plates, please? i.e. not the overall width of 75mm but the width of the hinge plate, which I am hoping might be suitable for a 28mm thick door. Our carpenter says 30mm max. width would be fine.
A.The hinge plates measure 25mm width and 100mm height. We only ever recommend to use 3 hinges per fire door. The price for a set of three is £53.12 incl VAT

A.Fire proof hinges are usually just over 100mm high and 38mm wide. This leaves the smaller of the two intumescent strips just a fraction too short. We would therefore recommend the larger of the two intumescent sheets
