Emergency bolts, latches and push pads are designed for applications where a final exit door is to be used only by trained personnel that have prior knowledge of the device and a panic situation is unlikely to occur. Emergency bolts and push pads are not suitable for use where members of the general public are likely to use the final exit door. For these applications a panic bolt or push bar would be required.
