Ei170RF Radio-Interlinked Strobe and Vibration Pad for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
The Ei170RF is a radio-interlinked strobe and vibration pad kit for the deaf and hard of hearing. The unit is activated by radio-signals from our range of radio-interlinked Ei Electronics smoke alarms. The Ei170RF consists of a central receiver unit with a built-in high-intensity Xenon strobe light and a plug-in vibration pad. In the case of fire the radio-linked smoke alarms send a signal to the Ei170RF, which will activate its strobe and vibration pad, alerting the deaf person of the fire.

Q.Is there a carbon monoxide alarm for the hearing impaired?
A.Yes, we supply a strobe and vibration pad for the deaf and hard of hearing, Ei170RF, which can be linked to a mains powered carbon monoxide alarm, Ei262.
Q.Where more than one radio-interlinked battery operated smoke alarm is installed, if the battery in one alarm failed would the other alarms be affected?
A.If one alarm was to malfunction the other units would not be affected, if it was due to alarm failure. If the fault was with the radio-interlinking signal, then all alarms that are in the chain after the faulty alarm would be affected and they would not go off.
Q.Are there any restrictions to the distance a radio-interlinked smoke alarm will work?
A.Most radio-interlinked alarms have a range of 150 meters in an open space and up to 30 meters in buildings. The thickness of the walls and partitions will affect the travel distance of the signal. Most units can be set up as a 'repeater' which will increase the distance by a further 30 meters.
