Q. Does this alarm conform to BS 5446 part 1 as recommended by the Fire Service?

Q. Is it possible to connect two smoke detectors Ei100CNP and a heat detector Ei103C using bell wire?

A. Yes, it is possible to connect the alarms using bell wire.

Q. How can we test the alarm to make sure it is working?

A. The manufacturer's recommendation is to test the alarm by pressing the test button. This will simulate a heat input at the heat sensor. You can also test it with a hair dryer but make sure that the hairdryer is kept away at a suitable distance from the alarm. Do not attempt to test the alarm by using open fire or excessive heat as this may damage the unit.

It works. Went of once in the kitchen so O.K. Did see a (gimic) product that allowed you to shout at the alarm to turn itself off. Think this is a good idea.

5 stars for construction, looks and performance. Sturdily built and looks very good in place. Passed all tests. The back plate of the unit has one hole for the interconnection wire and not a lot of room for drilling another so I wasn't able to replace my units without filling twelve screw holes and repainting six patches on my ceilings. There is a label which has to be pierced in order to slip the wires for interconnection through. The label very easily rips, don't rely upon it to keep out any dust or debris from a hole in a plaster ceiling that your wire pokes through.
